Recreation Supervisor

Responsibilities Include:

  • Training Staff on how to set up, break down and run an activity, how to be a mascot or to handle a mascot, customer interaction
  • Schedule staff based on park capacity
  • Monitor and maintain supplies for games, crafts and activities
  • Create daily and weekly activities schedules based on themed weeks
  • Keep and maintain an activities instruction/reference manual
  • Schedule entertainment for themed weeks
  • Be aware of franchise standards
  • Maintain and care for park mascot(s) inspecting, laundering, upkeep
  • Work within a budget for supplies and entertainment
  • Train staff to run park specific amenities

As well as:

  • Must be able to work outdoors
  • Maximum customer interaction
  • Must be friendly and courteous, willing to strive for excellent customer service and offering the customer a fun and memorable experience
  • Must work well with children and others
  • Outgoing personality, able to interact with customers
  • Be able to explain instructions and assist if needed
  • Host games, activities and crafts (must be able to engage and interact with customers)
  • Set up and break down activities
  • Keep supplies neat and orderly
  • Willing to be a mascot (wear a costume) or at least attempt
  • A current Food handlers certification (ex. Servsafe): have a basic understanding of food safety and serving. Some activities involve food items such as cookies or cereal and are eaten by the customer. Food is sometimes served at an event such as a birthday party.
  • Have a basic knowledge of the campground to answer guest questions
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Trained to run park specific amenities
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds
